A Raita or raitha recipe is a yogurt based salad recipe. It is an Indian side dish recipe. It is a wonderful
way to add more raw vegetables and cooling yogurt in your diet. You can use

Most vegetables that are used for making salads such as tomatoes, cucumber, onions, carrots are used to make
raitha. Raitha is known as Pachadi or spelt or pronounced as raitha in South Indian states.
It is a curd(yogurt) based salad dish. You know that yogurt or curd, as it is commonly known in India, is
nutritious. Fresh, natural curd is used to make raithas.
Homemade
yogurt is used a lot in most Indian homes. It is served with any rice or roti(bread) and curry dish.
A festival meal or a everyday meal, raitha adds color and taste to your menu. It goes very well
with pulao, vegetable biryani,
lemon rice,
plain rice.
It is useful to make the hot curry dish more pleasant. If you love curries but can not tolerate the hotness of
spices and chili, raitha/pachadi can help you. Have a serving of cucumber raitha along with your meal.
It cools the body in summer. You can have it as a snack in the hot summer afternoons.
Just chill it for 30 minutes before serving. I am sure you will like this cool and tastier way of having your salad.
