Roti is a general name used for
Indian Bread.
But
the other words used
in Indian languages, chapati, phulka, bhakari, paratha, poori, poli,
nan, kulcha are also breads.
Each name refers to a different kind. Poli
is sweet, chapati and paratha
is made with whole wheat flour, naan is a
north indian roti made with plain flour, poori and bhatura are deep
fried etc.
A variety of grains is used to
make different kinds of rotis. Whole wheat flour is
used more commonly which is healthier because of the fiber content in
it. Jowar flour, rice flour , maize flour, millet flour are used to
make 'Bhakari' in different regions.
These flours are used individually
or a mixture of these flours is used. The mixing of flours adds to the
taste, colour, texture of that particular roti.  
 The everyday roti is generally chapati
or Phulka.
If you are watching your fat intake, phulka will be better for
you.
Deliciously deep fried Poori
is made and should be consumed occasionally. It can be a part of any
meal, breakfast, lunch,
dinner or a snack. It is also good to take when you go for a picnic.

Poori goes well with Potato
