Filtering the cooked banana stem
by: Laxmi

Happy to taste this soup and enjoy every time. But, whenever i have this soup I find lot of banana stem pieces.

But, in this recipe it is mentioned to filter the soup. So confused whether to retain the banana stem pieces or filter them.

Hi Laxmi,

Glad you find the banana stem soup recipe useful and like it.

If you do not like to find the banana stem pieces in soup, it is better to filter.

The note below the recipe says to filter the soup.

I say, try both ways, filtering and not filtering. See which one you like better, filtered or not-filtered soup.

I filter while serving to family members as they do not like to have the stem. For myself I sometimes do not bother to filter.

Hope this helps!
