spicy tomato chutney

If you like chutneys and spicy ones at that, you are going to love this spicy tomato chutney recipe.


The ingredients are few but the chutney tastes great.

You can keep this for few days. It goes well with many dishes.

You may serve this tomato chuteny with plain rice, chapati, dosa, poori etc.

How to make spicy tomato chutney


INGREDIENTS for spicy tomato chutney :


  • Tomatoes = 4 to 5(about 2-3 cups chopped)

  • red chili powder= 2 table spoons (add more or less according to taste)

  • cumin seeds = 1 table spoon

  • salt (according to taste)

  • PREPARATION of tomato chutney:


  • grind the tomatoes into a paste without using water.

  • heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. fry for 5 seconds or till you get the aroma
  • .
  • pour the tomato paste in the pan.

  • add red chili powder and salt.

  • cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes.


  • You can keep and use this chutney for 3 days.

    Now this is something that would actually go along with snacks and even with basmati rice. It is mostly something that we get in an Indian or Spanish cuisine. It might not look so appealing to you in the looks, but taste is good. http://www.mtbc.com/meaningful-use.aspx
