Kitchen cookware - Cooking Equipment

I love to look at kitchen cookware when I go window shopping. I like to see the new available pots and pans and other kitchen utensils.

Cookware sets are available in a large variety of sizes, shapes and price range to suit all pockets. The cookware is available in different kinds of metals to cook on the stovetop such as stainless steel cookware, cast iron cookware, copper bottom cookware, non stick cookware, aluminium etc.

We also have microwave cookware in special plastic as well as the glass cookware. The special glass cookware can also be used in the regular electric ovens.

Here are a few points about each type of cookware?

  • Stainless steel cookware is conveninet to use. Very easy to clean and maintain. It is also scratch resistant.
  • Copper bottom cookware heats fast and saves time and fuel. It looks attractive too as it is available in different shapes.
  • Non stick cookware is useful for those who want to reduce the oil consumption. It is also convenient to clean.
  • Castiron cookware heats well and is ideal for deep frying. You can read more about cast iron cookware.


  • What type of cookware is used in Indian cooking?


    The types of pots and pans used in Indian cooking are similar to the ones used the world over but we do have our special kind of kitchen cooking equipment which may be used for particular dishes.

    At home a variety of cooking equipment is used. Most of the kitchenware is Stainless steel cookware, nonstick cookware, cast iron cookware as well as copper bottom cookware. Aluminum cookware is also used by some.

    Stainless steel cookware is more commonly used as stainless steel is easy to maintain and not very expensive.

    Along with looks, I like the cooking equipment which is convenient to use and clean and maintain.

    I am always searching for kitchen cooking tools that will make my work easy. I love cooking but at the same time, I like to do it in an easy and simple way.

    Using proper cooking utensils makes the cooking job easier and enjoyable.

    Most of the cooking is done on the stove top so the kadai - Karhai (woks), girdles (tava), pots, saucepans are used a lot.
