The coffee powder used is finely ground and you may use your favorite coffee. Instant coffee is not used for making this flavored coffee.

This coffee recipe uses a few spices that makes it unique. The addition of spices make this coffee so interesting and refreshing.

The south Indian states drink filter coffee which is strong in taste and aroma.

Compared to the south Indian coffee, this Maharashtrian coffee is sweeter. It is also easier and faster to make. Just try it.

How to make Flavored Coffee?

Main ingredients for flavored coffee

Ingredients to make 2 cups of flavored coffee:

  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 cup
  • coffee powder - 1 tsp
  • cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • nutmeg powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar - 2 tsp or according to taste

Step by step instructions for making Maharashtrian flavored coffee

  1. Preparing Flavored coffee
  2. Mix all the ingredients in a coffee pot.
  3. Bring to boil. Switch off.
  4.  Cover and let rest for 3-4 min.
  5. Strain and serve hot.

It is very good pick me up drink. The mixed aroma of cardamom and nutmeg is very inviting and soothing.

  • You may add a pinch of cinnamon for a change.
  • This flavored coffee usually has sweetish taste.
  • You may store this coffee in the fridge for 2 days. Serve it as cold flavored coffee or heat it and serve as hot flavored coffee.
