Indian Almond milk or Badam milk is a energy giving drink. It is easy to make.

You can prepare the badam / almond powder mix and make hot or cold badam milk when you want within minutes.

Almond is Badam in Indian language. This badam milk is served for breakfast or as a bedtime drink or at any other time when you feel like it.

Almonds - BadamAlmonds - Badam

Almonds contain vitamin E and are helpful in keeping you looking and feeling young. It is a healthy practice to add almonds in your daily diet.

You may eat raw almonds or you may soak them in water or milk at night and then have them in the morning.

Drinking almond /  badam milk is another way of consuming almonds. It is good to drink in the mornings or at bedtime, or anytime you feel like it.

This Badam Milk recipe is as follows. we will first prepare the Badam milk powder. You can store it for 2-3 months. This badam milk powder can be used to make badam milk as well as to flavor sweets like Kheer, Burfi etc

How to prepare Almond Milk Powder - Badam Milk powder

Ingredients to make 1 1/2 cups Almond / Badam Milk Powder mix

  • Almonds / badam - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamoms - 6-8
  • Saffron strands - 1 teaspoon

Preparation for making almond - badam milk powder

  1. Roast lightly almonds. The purpose is just to remove any moisture in them so that you can grind them to fine powder.
  2. Cool completely.
  3. Mix together roasted almonds, sugar, saffron, cardamom pods.
  4. Grind to a find powder.Your almond / badam powder is ready to use.
  5. Store in an airtight jar.

Use when needed. You can use this almond powder mix to make hot as well as chilled badam milk. See instructions below to make hot or cold badam milk.

How To make Hot almond - Badam milk

To make 2 cups of Hot Badam milk, you need:

  • Almond / Badam  milk powder(as prepared above) - 2 tbsp
  • Milk - 2 cups.
  • Sugar(optional) - 1 teaspoon

To Prepare Hot Badam Milk

  1. Heat 2 cups milk.
  2. Add 2 teaspoon of almond powder mix to it.
  3. Add some sugar if you wish. Remember we added some sugar while making the powder.
  4. Stir well till it dissolves.

It will have a lovely yellow color. Serve hot with or after breakfast or at bedtime. It is a warming drink on a rainy, cold day too.

How To make Chilled Badam milk - almond milk

To Make 2 cups of Cold Badam milk we need

  1. Almond / badam milk powder(as prepared above) - 2 tbsp
  2. Milk - 2 cups.
  3. Sugar(optional) - 1 teaspoon

Making cold almond / badam milk

  1. Take 2 cups of milk
  2. Add 2 spoons of the prepared badam powder to the milk.
  3. Stir till it dissolves.
  4. Chill and serve.

Tips :

  • You may use already chilled milk and mix badam powder in it.
  • You may add ice cubes to the milk to cool it fast.

Serve Cold Badam Milk in the afternoons, warm/hot summer days, whenever you and your family and guests would like a healthy nutritious chilled drink.
