Steamed Rice Flour Patties Recipe

This steamed rice flour patties is a simple recipe.
You may serve it for breakfast or as a snack.
You may add your favorite vegetables to make it healthier.
As it is a steamed recipe it does not require much oil.
How to make rice flour patties?
List of ingredients and the quantity for making rice flour patties for 2-3 peopleOne cup rice flourtwo cups watersalt to taste 2 or 3 green chillies choppedone spoon curry leaves half spoon each of urad dal and mustard seeds pinch of hing powder 2 to 3 spoons of cooking oil
Preparation to do before cooking
In a heavy bottomed pan saute the dry rice flour until it becomes off white in color and does not stick to the fingers when touched.
Making rice flour patties - Step by step cooking instructionsIn the pan add oil,urad dal,mustard seeds,curry leaves and hing powder. When the mustard seeds splutter, add water and salt. Add rice flour and mix stirring well. Stir until the water dries up. Remove from flame, mix well without lumps. If it has become very thick,you can add little water and mix. The dough is ready for patties. Make small flat patties with dough. Smear oil in a pan, and keep the patties and steam cook it. It will be ideal if idli cooker is used for the steaming. Or you may use any steamer you have.
The patties can be served with coconut chutney or sambhar or consumed plain.
