Junka recipe - zunka recipe

This is a dry junka or zunka recipe.


This zunka can be taken for lunch to school or office.

It is also a good accompaniment for chapati or paratha for a train journey.

You can serve it hot or at room temperature along with chapati or rice.


how to make Junka - Zunka


Ingredients for junka - zunka


Besan(chickpea/bengal gram flour)- 1 cup,
beaten curd(plain yogurt) - 1 cup,
green chillies - 3, deseeded and slit
onion medium size - 1
salt to taste

Ingredients for tadka(tempering)


3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
pinch of hing(asafetida)
half tspoon jeera(cumin seeds)
pinch of haldi(turmeric powder

Method for making junka.


Mix salt,besan and beaten curd nicely without any lump.

Finely chop onion into small pieces.

Take a kadai / fry pan, put oil and once the oil is heated put mustard, and jeera and hing.

Add the slit green chillies and onion and saute nicely till the onion is cooked, add the besan mixture and add haldi.

Keep stirring for 5 minutes till the raw besan smell goes.

Remove from fire and garnish with Finely cut coriander leaves.

This can be had with roti,paratha, puris and dosa.

Tip

To have the consistency slightly thinner, water can be added. The same can be done only with water also if curd is not available.
