Parsi syle coconut chutney recipe

This coconut chutney is a parsi variation. It is generally served with rice pulao.


There are many Indian Coconut chutney recipes.

If you always make the usual coconut chutney, do try this.

You can serve this with all the dishes where coconut chutney goes well.




How to make parsi style coconut chutney


List of ingredients and the quantity


1 coconut
5 green chillies
1 bunch of fresh Coriander leaves
6/7 pods of garlic
1/2 cup of fresh pudina(mint) leaves
1/2 tbsp cumin(jeera) seeds
1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp sugar.

Preparation to do before cooking

Break coconut and keep water aside.

Step by step instructions


Cut small pieces of Coconut
add green chillies
bunch of Coriander leaves
garlic pods
pudina (mint)leaves
cumin seeds
Blend all the ingredients together.
make it little thin if required by adding water in the mixture and blend it again.
Add lemon juice, salt and sugar after grinding is done. and mix well.

Parsi style coconut chutney is ready to serve.

Cumin seed quantity for coconut chutney

No quantity was listed for the cumin seeds. It says 1/2, but not 1/2 half of what. Can this be provided? Thanks.
