Akki roti or Rice bread is prepared in the same way as
ragi rotti (millet bread)
. Rice is used a lot in the southern states of India in different forms.
This is one of the easy rice flour recipes of Karnataka. Akki rotti is served as a breakfast dish with coconut chutney or with a curry. A spoonful of ghee or a blob of homemade butter adds to the taste of this rice roti.
You can mix the dough and keep it in the fridge for 2-3 days and use it when you want.
There are a few variations of this akki rotti such as mixed vegetable akki rotti, masala akki rotti, plain akki rotti etc.
Ingredients: to make 2 or 3 rice rotis
Preparation : Rice flour bread - flattened, ready to cook
Serve hot with coconut chutney or favorite curry.
Adding fresh coconut makes roti soft and tasty too. You can add that according to your taste or omit it.
If the flame is too low, the roti may become hard. Lift the lid and check how much it is done.
