These are healthy low calorie mayonnaise recipes. There are no added preservatives.

You can store this mayonnaise for 3-4 days in the fridge. You can use this homemade mayonnaise as a sandwich spread, wrap spread, dip for vegetable sticks, salad dressings etc.

You can vary the amount of spices and herbs according to your taste.

Though I have added olive oil, you may add any edible vegetable oil that you have on hand if olive oil is not available.

Homemade Yogurt mayonnaise with hung curd

Yogurt - Curd - Dahi

The main ingredient in Yogurt mayonnaise is hung curd.

You will need about 1-2 hours to make hung curd from fresh yogurt if you already have not made it.

Egg-less homemade yogurt mayonnaise ingredients

  • hung curd - 1 cup
  • Salt - a pinch or according to taste
  • Sugar - 1 tsp or according to taste
  • Pepper powder, black or white - 1/2 tsp
  • Olive oil - 1/2 tbsp
  • Milk - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard powder or paste - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic paste or powder (optional) - 1/2 tsp, more or less according to taste

Steps to Make homemade eggless yogurt mayonnaise

  1. Add hung curd and milk to a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Add all other ingredients and mix again until smooth.
  3. Add lime juice or vinegar only if you like extra sourness. Otherwise the light sourness of hung curd (made with yogurt is enough).
  4. Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator and use within 3-4 days for sandwiches, salads, wraps etc.
  5. You may add other herbs such as oregano, basil etc. according to your taste.

I usually add oregano, pepper powder and a few chili flakes too. My family loves it.

Main ingredients for eggless mayonnaise

White bread slices

Make this egg-less mayonnaise if you have bread available. All ingredients should be at room temperature when mixing.

  • Bread - 3 slices
  • Hung curd - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - a pinch or according to taste(optional) -
  • Condensed milk (or sugar) - 1 tsp or according to taste
  • White pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Olive oil - 1/2 tbsp
  • Milk - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard powder or paste - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic paste or powder(optional) - 1/2 tsp, more or less according to taste

Steps to make homemade eggless mayonnaise with bread slices

  1. Break and add bread pieces and milk to blender. Blend a little.
  2. Add all other ingredients and blend again until smooth.
  3. If condensed milk is not available, you may add a little sugar.
  4. You may add other herbs such as oregano, basil etc. according to your taste.
  5.  Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator and use within 3-4 days for sandwiches, salad dressing, wraps etc.

Eggless mayonnaise with white sauce

  1. Make white sauce before making mayonnaise. You will need some 10 minutes to make white sauce first.
  2. If you have time and some white flour and butter and milk, make mayonnaise with white sauce.

  • Salt - a pinch or according to taste(optional)
  • Condensed milk (or sugar) - 1 tsp or according to taste
  • White pepper powder - 1/4 tsp

  • Vinegar or lime juice - 1 tsp or according to taste
  • Mustard powder or paste - 1/4 tsp(optional)
  • Garlic paste or powder - 1/2 tsp, more or less according to taste

  1. Add all other ingredients and blend until smooth. If condensed milk is not available, you may add a little sugar.
  2. You may add other herbs such as oregano, basil etc. according to your taste.
  3.  Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator and use within 3-4 days for sandwiches, salads, wraps etc.

Tips :

It is important to store mayonnaise in the fridge. Take out when you want to use it and then immediately transfer any leftover mayonnaise back to fridge.

You may add honey instead of sugar or condensed milk.

If you are adding fresh garlic paste, you will need less as that has stronger flavor.

Add your favorite herb or a combination of herbs.

Make changes every time you make and see which combination you like.
